Spring: 5 in season flowers for spring wedding bouquets
Are you planning a spring wedding?
If you are, let’s take a look at some flowers that are in season throughout spring and look stunning in a wedding bouquet.
Here in Ireland, we are lucky to have an amazing number of talented wedding florists, check a list of our top recommended wedding florists right here.
Anemone

If you’re looking for a beautiful and impactful spring wedding bouquet, including anenomes could be a great choice. Anenomes are open flowers with wide spread light coloured petals, and a typically dark centre. Striking and unique, spring wedding perfection.
Garden Roses

Garden roses are a great choice if you happen to miss peony season, or if peonies cannot be sourced. The David Austen variety of garden roses are really similar to peonies with beautiful and closely layered petals, and give a different look to traditional rose variations.
Lily of the Valley

Lily of the Valley was the flower of choice for both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle. With a spring green stem and soft white or cream small florals, Lily of the Valley flowers are a popular choice for spring wedding bouquets. As a flower, Lily of the Valley tend to be quite small in size, and in volume so to get a full bouquet can get quite pricey.
Lisianthus

With a slight bell shape and petals with flared edges, Lisianthus flowers might not be on your radar. But if you’re looking for a simple, and beautiful flower that is somewhat of a hybrid between a rose and a carnation, this is the flower you’ve been looking for.
Peony

Usually available from April through to June, peonies have become a really popular choice for spring/summer bridal bouquets and its easy to see why: decadent and tightly packed petals create bulbous and beautiful flowers that make for a gorgeous and full wedding bouquet. Usually chosen in white, cream or blush, peonies are also often available in stronger pink and mauves shades.
Other florals available in spring:
Of course you’ll also find an array of other gorgeous florals, typical spring florals such as tulips, daffodils, forget-me-nots, freesias and sweet peas.
