Ever thought about hiring a wedding illustrator? You should
From musicians to magicians, wedding entertainment comes in many forms these days.
Most people choose to invest in their wedding entertainment over wedding favours, but hiring a wedding illustrator straddles the line between entertainment and an incredible keepsake from the Big Day.
It should be mentioned that like most, if not all forms of wedding entertainment, a wedding illustrator is a nice-to-have as opposed to a need-to-have.
Wait, what is a wedding illustrator?

A wedding illustrator is an artist who creates illustrations or drawings of wedding guests or scenes, such as the wedding ceremony, the couple, and the reception. These illustrations are usually created live during the wedding reception (or throughout the day) as a form of entertainment for guests and yourselves, but also as keepsakes or wedding favours for the couple or for guests.
A wedding illustrator adds another unique entertainment element to your wedding day, and allows you to capture your wedding day in a completely different way.
Are there wedding illustrators in Ireland?
Yes! We are lucky to have an amazing number of talented creatives in Ireland.
Here are two brilliant artists we have heard great things about.
Linda Byrne – The Wedding Illustrator

For full transparency, we have met and worked with Linda a few times throughout the years – but this means we can speak from experience and our recommendation is sincere. Linda truly knows how to work live events and capture everyones best side. Quick, professional and oh, so talented!
Although Linda is based in Meath, she is available for weddings across the country. We even know a number of people who have received illustrations at events and framed them, these are special pieces.

How far in advance should I book?
Like everything else when it comes to a wedding, you should book your selected wedding illustrator as far in advance as possible. As soon as you and the other half agree that a wedding illustrator is the perfect form of entertainment for your guests, and for your Big Day – get in touch and get the deposit in.
What should I budget for a live wedding illustrator?
The price (and in turn budget) will depend on how long you intend to have a wedding illustrator at your wedding; full day, half day etc.. Similar to other forms of wedding entertainment, eg music, we would recommend budgeting approximately €1000. However it should be noted that each artist will have their own fee structure based on the packages offered, and your individual needs or wants for your wedding. Also, depending on where your wedding will be taking place, there may also be an additional fee for travel to and from the venue.
